DRS Property Services, led by Dermot Sheerin, specialises in property management for the common areas in business parks. They oversee thousands of sq ft of property across Ireland, including the Western Parkway Business Centre, The Westway Centre, and The Motor Centre. Their role is to ensure the efficient operation, upkeep, and security of these sites.
Our Client’s Challenge
Static guarding was proving a costly security solution at one of the business parks managed by DRS Property Services, while also leaving visibility gaps. To address this challenge, the company explored the potential of electronic security systems to provide a more reliable, low-cost solution while also providing 24/7 security coverage for the park’s 42 units.
Project Impact
After conversations with several security providers, DRS Property Services decided on Sharp Group, persuaded by the company’s stellar reputation and unparalleled customer service. From there, the installation process was seamless; the business park was equipped with 35 CCTV cameras and later expanded to include 75.
DRS Property Services also enlisted Sharp’s central monitoring station to remotely manage access and egress to the site using a digital telephone system. This system allows authorised users to access the park outside of regular hours using dedicated mobile numbers as a verification process.
Outcome for the Client
The transitions from man to machine resulted in significant improvements in security effectiveness and cost savings. Not only has DRS significantly reduced costs, but Sharp’s solutions provide a more comprehensive and reliable solution than traditional static guarding. As a result, since the initial installation, the partnership between Sharp Group and DRS has flourished, with Sharp providing electronic security systems across several of their parks for over 12 years.
