As Ireland's home-grown fire and security consultants, Sharp Group plays an active role in developing the sustainability of our communities and our business.
We have a real passion for the local community in which we live and work. Many of our team members take part on governing boards for local charities, like Youth Horizons or particpate in working with young people in education and sport.

Education for all
We believe in "Education for All" and are committed to supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. One of the main charities we work with is Youth Horizons, a charity funded school that offers an opportunity for early school leavers to complete their education to leaving certificate standard.
Sport & wellbeing
Sport and education go hand in hand. Whilst education is critical, learning life skills and teamwork can come from all different types of sport. Sharp Group team members take on different roles including working with Shamrock Rovers and their under 15 years team as well as undertaking Charity Bike Rides for charities like Darkness into Light.

- Our value 'Our People and Volunteering' outlines more detail on how we encourage our team to take part in community projects. We enjoy investing in our people and their own personal goals.
- Many of our volunteering projects focus on investing in the youth of today for future generations, including our ongoing support to Youth Horizons.
- Where possible, we look to provide local employment and procure local suppliers. Our clients are based in different counties across Ireland, therefore we can hire local talent for development projects or man-guarding services.

Environment
Certified to ISO14001, we are committed to reducing carbon emissions and meeting Ireland's nZEB goals. We have strong environmental values, conducting our business in a manner that promotes sustainability.
- As a specifier of products for fire and security, we take full responsibility for taking appropriate measures to protect our environment. To comply with regulation and our ISO14001 commitment, we ensure responsible disposal of electrical waste, either that created through renovations for our clients or end of life.
- We help our clients support their own environmental compliance goals through actively updating them on the latest legislation through CPDs or a newsletter when change takes place.
- All of our fire and security suppliers are monitored so that they adhere to legislation and regulation in reducing carbon emissions and greenhouse gases.
Our Community Activity
YouthHorizons
A charity close to our hearts, Youth Horizons offers an opportunity to early school leavers to complete their education to leaving certificate standard. In addition to this they provide support and guidance to help people achieve their true potential. We are a community based charity situated in Jobstown, West Tallaght, Ireland.

Supporting Darkness into Light
During lockdown, one of our directors, Joe Doolan ventured on a 100km bike ride for Darkness into Light. With lockdown measures in place, Joe undertook the challenge from a local circuit which was less than 2km away. During this sunny Saturday, our team logged on to Pieta House to donate and track Joe's achievement.
