The largest Irish-owned fire and security company, Sharp Group, have announced the acquisition of Dublin-based firm Integrated Electronic Solutions and Security (IESS).
IESS design and implement electronic security solutions to both commercial and residential clients, with an industry expertise in protection.
This move allows IESS’ extensive range of clients to be managed and monitored internally from Sharp Group’s state-of-the-art headquarters.
Sharp Group employ 180 people and provide fire and security solutions, from concept design, installation and commissioning, through to maintenance, manned staff, mobile guarding and proactive monitoring.
Sharp Group are also industry leaders in the provision of lone worker applications which can be operated through smartphones.
The acquisition of IESS comes on the back of an announcement of deals worth €3.2m by Sharp Group, including a contract to provide all the electronic maintenance for ESB Networks’ 120 sites nationwide.
Sharp Group has also secured contracts worth €2.3m for remote monitoring, guarding and high-end security systems with blue-chip clients in the areas of pharmaceuticals, drinks, and high value consumer goods.
“The acquisition of IESS, who also have a range of high-profile clients, is part of a growth strategy which will see our footprint expand in several areas including the semi-state and Governmental sectors,” said founder and Managing Director, Ivan Nolan.
“With the acquisition of companies who share our professional standards such as IESS and, previously, Jade Management Solutions, we aim to lead the market as a single provider to manage all fire and security services.
“We have also just become the first Irish security company to gain the ISO 27001 standard, which deals with information security management.
“ISO 27001 may only be relevant to about one per cent of the industry, but it allows us to operate at the highest levels of data centre and information security, where it is an absolute requirement.
“We are driven by PLCs, which means that we are constantly audited to the highest international standards – far above the industry mean.”
As part of the acquisition, former IESS Managing Director Thomas McDarby will join Sharp Group as Security Consultant, bringing his considerable expertise in security system design and planning, along with a team headed by William Hyland.
IESS expertise also includes the design and installation of visual display walls which are tailored to clients’ specific needs.
