ACHIEVING NET ZERO
Sharp Group is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050:

Sharp Group is a service-related business where its operations are supported by the buildings in which we work, our modes of transport and our supply chain partners. We will apply our influence to promote sustainable practices from the specification of materials, and appointment of suppliers to decarbonising our business operations.

SCOPE 1
Direct greenhouse (GHG) emissions that occur from sources that are controlled or owned by an organisation.
SCOPE 2
Covers indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heating and cooling consumed by the reporting company.
SCOPE 3
Includes all other indirect emissions that occur in a company’s value chain.
Scope 3 is Sharp Group’s lowest contributor to the overall carbon output, however the business has put in place a charter to address the reduction of waste and promote more sustainable business and commuter travel. Our commitment is:
- Zero to landfill for all significant equipment such as old PCs
- Promote sustainable travel for commuting to and from work
- Work with our supply chain to promote high levels of environmental standards
- Undertake annual calculations on Scope 3 to measure progress for continuous improvement.

Sharp Group is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
Our Baseline Emissions Footprint is YR 2022. This record of the greenhouse gases has been produced based on the past and before the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions.
As the leading independent fire and security business in Ireland, our response to mitigating negative impacts on the environment is to responsibly measure progress for continuous improvement. In 2024, we will undertake a deep dive into calculating our carbon footprint as per the base year and review successes and challenges to update our annual commitment.
